How to Remove Fuel Injector 2005 Chrysler 300

To take off a fuel injector from the fuel rail you must pull out the fuel rail assembly from the engine. To avoid a catastrophic fire, be certain to relieve the fuel pressure before attempting to service the fuel system.

Fuel Injector Removal

1. Release fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal cable to battery.
3. Unfasten the intake manifold plenum from its occupied position.
4. Lift and remove the plenum up off of the engine.
5. Cover the intake manifold hole to prevent debris from entering the engine.
6. Disconnect the fuel supply tube quick connect fittings, they are located at the rear of the intake manifold.
7. If the fuel injector connectors are not already marked with their cylinder number, be certain to tag them yourself so as to identify the correct cylinder.
8. Take off electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
9. Unfasten the fuel rail mounting bolts (refer to image 1)
10. Remove the fuel rail by lifting it straight up off of the vehicle’s cylinder head.
11. Take off the retain clips from that hold the fuel injector at the fuel rail (refer to image 2).
12. Pull off fuel injectors.
13. Repeat steps for the remaining fuel injectors.
14. Make a careful inspection of the injector O-ring and injector clip. If the O-ring or clip is damaged, replace.
